Character quotations:
Literature: I sometimes think that never grows so red The Rose as where some buried Caesar bled.
Dave making small talk with Archie as Caesar is burned, recites a slightly modified poem by Omar Khayyám (lived 1048-1131 AD. Persian mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, and poet. He was born in Nishabur, in northeastern Iran, and spent most of his life near the court of the Karakhanid and Seljuq rulers in the period which witnessed the First Crusade).
The actual, entire poem is as follows (note: Dave substituted "grows" for "blows" in his recitation, or Archie misquotes him):
I sometimes think that never blows so red
The Rose as where some buried Caesar bled;
That every Hyacinth the Garden wears
Dropt in her Lap from some once lovely Head.
