The League of Frightened Men 18 Fried chicken, salad with green peppers, and (strong) coffee. Dora Chapin prepared a snack for Archie and Pitney Scott. The coffee contained sleeping pills.
The League of Frightened Men 20 Hot egg sandwiches, milk, and coffee. Archie requests this meal (a combination of both breakfast and lunch) from Fritz after his ordeal (being drugged and collapsing afterwards) and his return to office chores.
The Rubber Band 5 Filets of beef in sauce Abano; soup; Hungarian petits-poissons; fruit. Wolfe instructs Fritz to cut the meat into morsels, and include soup and Hungarian petits-poissons to augment the meal to provide enough for 5 (Clara Fox, Hilda Lindquist, and Mike Walsh were unexpected guests for dinner). Fritz proposed giving them canned chicken and mushrooms, but Wolfe said, "Confound it, no! If there are to be hardships, I must share them."
The Rubber Band 10 Canadian bacon, pancakes, and wild thyme honey (which Wolfe got from Syria). Plenty of coffee. Archie eats breakfast alone in the corner of the kitchen going over the morning papers' coverage of Scovil's murder.
The Rubber Band 12 Pork chops and pumpkin pie. Fred Durkin eats this meal after his release from NYPD headquarters on bail. He brought the chops with him for Fritz to cook.
The Rubber Band 12 Minced lamb kidneys with green peppers, and a dish of endive; pie and coffee. Archie's lunch after returning from Cramer's office (where he refused to identify Mike Walsh in a lineup).

The Red Box 3 Sausage with ten kinds of herbs. Lunch as prepared by Fritz with materials from a Swiss supplier in Chappaqua who made them himself from "home-made pigs."
The Red Box 6 During a relapse, Wolfe proposes shish-kabob, marinated slices of lamb in red wine and spices. This proposed meal may never have come to fruition after Archie's disruption of the relapse and the meal plans associated with it.
The Red Box 6 Rice Fritters with black currant jam and endive salad with tarragon. Wolfe describes this lunch that Archie will have to miss in order to retrieve Helen Frost by 2pm.
The Red Box 7 A couple of ham sandwiches and two glasses of milk. Archie's lunch at a drug store counter while he waits for Helen Frost.
The Red Box 7 Pork and beans with a glass of milk. Archie's lunch at Moreland's (a restaurant on Madison) with Helen Frost (who ordered "some kind of goo with hot tea"); Archie ends up abandoning the meal to allow Helen to consider his invitation to go to the office to talk with Wolfe.
The Red Box 11 Fricandeau with lettuce and endive salad with oil, and a '28 Marcobrunner (a celebrated Rhine wine). Wolfe orders Fritz to "stretch" this lunch to accommodate two guests (Helen and Lew Frost).

Some Buried Caesar 6 Chicken fricassee, dumplings, gravy, and rice. This meal was recommended by Lily Rowan, who told Archie it was made by a Mrs. Miller. Apparently, it was delicious and even Wolfe said it was superb (after eating a second helping).
Some Buried Caesar 12 (Hot and tasty) broiled lamb chops with stuffed tomatoes; salad (edible but way below Fritz's standards); and squash pie. Archie and Wolfe eat off trays in their room at the Osgood ranch.
